Cassina, 2023
Cassina was the first company to develop and industrialise the production of timeless re-editions, making a significant contribution to the culture of design. “Echoes, Cassina. 50 Years of iMaestri” explores a journey that began in 1965 with the first re-editions of furniture by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, and continues today, thanks to an innovative technological process carried out while staying true to the original designs. Since 1973, which marked the launch of the iMaestri Collection, the company has crafted authentic re-editions of the most iconic pieces by the leading architects of the 20th century: Erik Gunnar Asplund, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld. Over time, the collection has grown to include masterpieces by Italian authors like Franco Albini, Gio Ponti and Carlo Scarpa, Giacomo Balla, Marco Zanuso, Ico Parisi and Vico Magistretti. The book, with a unique graphic design, narrates the richness and variety of the Cassina catalogue in which the icons dialogue with the contemporary pieces to create a unique thread of continuity between past, present and future. Curated by Ivan Mietton and published by Rizzoli, the book is divided into five themed chapters with authoritative editorial content and previously unseen photographs produced by an international team of experts.
