In an effort to reduce the structure of a bookcase to its bare essentials, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni decided to assemble four shelves joined with two cables, fixing them to the wall with a single attachment point.
Originally conceived in 1957, this design was refined over the years until its public release in 1966. After 50 years, the Libreria Pensile is still an important, elegant and very Castiglioni-style piece today.
