Six sheets of gilded paper. Plexiglass plumb bob. Kabir is the Arabic word for ‘big’. In addition to its size, Oh mei ma Kabir differs from its little sister Oh mei ma in that it has an additional downlight at the bottom. The six sails are also made of Japanese paper and are gold-plated by hand using a special process. The light from the upper lighting element shines downwards onto a reflector plate and is projected back onto the sails. The light reflected by a total of almost 7 square metres of gold leaf gives high rooms a special glow.
