Charlotte Perriand

The Banquette Mauritanie is among the furnishings designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1959 for the homes of the managers and staff of the “Miferma” mining company in the city of Cansado, on the Atlantic coast of Mauritania. It’s sophisticated, timeless design. Composed of magnificent wood lattice attached to an elegant metal base, the bench can be used without cushions to accentuate its long, lean structure. With a single two- or three-seat cushion placed at the centre or along the sides of the bench, it invites various interpretations of use.
